The pearl of Montreux is rightfully considered the famous Chillon Castle, which was sung by Byron in the poem "The Prisoner of Chillon". The castle is located 4 km from the city - you can get there by train, or walk along the embankment.
Interestingly, from 1979 to 1993 in the city of Montreux, the group Queen owned a recording studio Mountain Studios. Now there is a museum-studio of the Queen group, located 50 meters from the Freddie Mercury monument.
The inhabitants of the Swiss Riviera speak French, but they are fluent in both English and German.
